This custom organic modern home in Laguna Beach, California, was built in 2008. The idea was for the architecture to suggest a natural rock formation on the hillside. This was accomplished through the use of non-rectilinear geometries, natural colors, and allowing the architecture to grow from the slope.

One enters from a courtyard through a wall of glass into a grand sweeping space which seems to flow unbounded in all directions. Opposite the entrance is a tall atrium with a 30 foot wall of glass, and a lower terrace with a large spa. The family room/kitchen enjoys a broad terrace which one accesses through a 10 foot high disappearing glass door. The lower level contains bedrooms, a play room, and an office.

Views are experienced from all rooms and encompass the ocean and beaches to the west, the hills and canyons to the north, and the mountains to the east.
