"Stories and Dreams" with Sonatasia at the Moegling Residence

On November 16 we had a special event with Sonatasia at the Moegling residence in Laguna Beach. I designed this house back in the late '90's and construction was not completed until 2008. Mr. and Mrs. Moegling are the third owners, and have taken fine care of the house. They graciously agreed to host this event, and it was a dream come true for me, because I have wanted Sonatasia to perform there for years.

We featured vocalist Vangie Archer-Gunn, lead singer for Gordon Goodwin's Big Phat Band, Violinists Jessica Haddy (pictured above) and Mari Haig, Dancer Katrina Callihan, Dancer and vocalist Cory Johnson, Singers Becky Bender, Kelsie Parker, and Aria Gunn, and pianist Kevin Weed. The event was well attended with 55 guests.

A Sonatasia performance the unfolds all around, and the performers use many parts of the space, so the architecture becomes part of the performance. You get to come to a spectacular house and enjoy an evening of live music, dance, and theater, and it is an uplifting experience.
